Silver-mounted bowenite griffin clock
On oval hard stone base applied with chased silver laurel garlands between waved and reed-and-tie bands. The chased and engraved heraldic griffin holding in one paw the clock and in the other a gilt sword – signed Faberge with round Imperial Warrant mark, initials of workmates Julius Rapport, assay mark of St. Petersburg 1899-1908, height 31.1 cm
The griffin holding a shield and a sward is the heraldic sign of the Romanov family.
