“Oruzheynik” Factory

“Oruzheynik” Factory is located in a city with a poetical to the Russian ear name - Zlatoust.
The fame of this city is closely connected to the creation of edged weapons, to the famous damask steel and notorious armourers of Zlatoust. The art of creating and decorating of the arms appeared together with the foundation of Arms Factory, as a branch of Iron Manufacture.

The factory was the main supplier of edged weapons for the Russian Permanent Army. The armourers had also decorated granted and award weapons. Thanks to tens of thousands of sword-blades, produced at the Factory, many battles were won by the Russian Army and Navy. Decorated weapons in their turn, were symbols of military valour and honour of soldiers, inspired heroes and gave them power for the new victories.

Reviving the traditions of the notable armourers of the past, the modern factory “Oruzheynik” develops and produces the decorative sword-blades. This weapon has not only high artistic value, being a sign of honour and a symbol of success of its owner. As the time goes by, it gains also a great cultural significance, becomes a patrimonial sign and family’s value.
Weapons of honour created in the factory shops are noticeable for their functionality. They are made of the best steel brands, valuable woods, precious and semi-precious stones and metals.
Thanks to the team-work of the artist and armourer, each item turns out to be a real masterpiece of modern art. Among the decorated cold steels of “Oruzheynik” Factory one can find classical marine broadswords and hangers, infantry and cavalry swords, daggers, dragoon and Cossack sabers, sabers, swords, canes, stylets, knives and other works of modern arms art.

Artistic image of these goods contains the common futures of this or that arms culture. The great events and victories of the past, memorable milestones of the present Russia, as well as historical dates of the life of outstanding people underline every author’s decoration.

Nowadays the armourers of “Oruzheynik”, following the traditions of their precursors, create unique examples of modern arms art, the main feature of which is their functionality. Every blade is a hand-made weapon with decoration, made according to the original arms technology of metal processing of XVIII-XIX centuries.
The items are produced in a single copy or as a limited edition, devoted to a memorable collection. At the production the best steel brands are used, as well as valuable woods, precious and semi-precious stones and metals.
Every blade is marked with a logo of the factory, collection number and the trade-mark of the armourer.
Every item has its individual case made of precious woods and a passport with a description and a conformance certificate of Ministry of Internal Affairs which makes its storage and transportation legal.
